Lunch
We were working from home today so went for lunch along the road at Aesthete. We both went for dishes from the Specials board: Spanakopita Fritters (spinach and feta fritters on herbed labneh with poached egg, tomato salsa, spring onion and pink onion) and Organic Kale, Butterbean and Sweet Potato Salad with feta, herbs, spring onion, zataar, bread shards and maple dressing. All excellent!

Dinner
It was a hot day again so we kept dinner light with our old favourite Greek-Style Chickpea Salad.

Lunch
I volunteered at the Round Sheffield Run in the morning and then hung out for a bit with friends who had completed it which meant I was ravenous by the time I headed home so I stopped off at Urban Pitta in Crookes for a halloumi salad bowl to take home.
Dinner
With the Round Sheffield Run to actually run the next day we had our traditional pre-race past dinner. I did a very easy tomato sauce with mushrooms and black olives with Suma’s oat pasta.

Lunch
Turns out that Urban Pitta (see yesterday!) is the perfect lunch post-run as well. We had their pittas today.
Dinner
I made this Courgette, Feta and Hazelnut Risotto for dinner. I’ve made it a few times since I tore it out of one of Waitrose’s free newspapers. I think the time for the courgette in the oven is a bit long so keep an eye on that but doing the feta in the oven works really well.

Lunch
I got an urge for a smoky lentil and red pepper soup today – I think it was in my head from something we saw on a cafe menu when we were in Wales back in early May. Anyway, I based it on this Smoky Red Pepper and Sweetcorn Soup but added red lentils and more stock and skipped the sweetcorn. It was very satisfying.
Dinner
A favourite Meera Sodha recipe tonight: Tomato and tofu stir-fry with sesame rice from her book Dinner. It uses fresh vine tomatoes which makes for a lovely fresh sauce and I like to use at least twice the 6 spring onions that she recommends. Another satisfying dish with its full block of crushed tofu – I think I must have been hungry today after yesterday’s big run! Not a great photo but it gives an idea of the dish.

Dinner
We’re revisiting Meera favourites this week. Tonight Red Lentil Rasam with roast red cabbage from Meera Sodha’s book East (120 Vegan and Vegetarian Recipes from Bangalore to Beijing) served with basmatic rice and steamed tenderstem broccoli.

Lunch
My notes are a bit gappy for this week and I’ve got no idea what dinner was!

Lunch
My friend and I went to The Bhaji Shop for lunch. This place has been around Sheffield for many years at various venues but I hadn’t had anything from them since picking up their take away curries during lockdown! I need to not leave it so long again. They have a veggie curry of the day and then you can also pick up other curries from their freezer to take home.

Dinner
After such a good lunch I was quite happy to have curry again for dinner. We had a real curry feast with onion bhaji and samosa (from the Bhaji Shop) with minty yoghurt followed by leftover rasam, bhaji shop butternut squash and green bean curry from their freezer and rice. Fantastic!
